Do you want to feel more confident in your ability to create a high performance learning community in mathematics? Many superintendents, principals, and assistant principals feel confident in literacy, but few consider themselves math experts, and fewer yet are trained to use coaching to improve math education. Yet, district and building administrators are responsible for creating high performance learning communities in mathematics and for improving math scores.

In our free Administrator’s Day Institute, Antonia Cameron and the Metamorphosis team will share their expertise in how to build high performance math learning communities in schools. Participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions on:

  • Conferring In the Math Class: What principals should know.
  • Do’s and Don’ts for Ensuring Intelligent Use of Curriculum Materials in schools.
  • Coaching: Feeling Confident in Providing Effective Mathematics Feedback To Teachers From a Supervisory Position.
  • What Principals Need to Know About Supporting Struggling Secondary Students.
  • Content Coaching: What it is and how principals can use it to cultivate a coaching culture in their schools.
  • Rich Tasks: How does a principal discern the worthiness of a math task?
  • Algebra for All: Why is algebra important for all students to learn?

Participants will leave with:

  • Strategies for providing effective math leadership.
  • An understanding of the role of coaching in the principal’s toolkit.
Tools for creating high performance mathematics professional learning communities in schools.
  • An increased capacity to assess mathematics classrooms and know how to improve them.
