Corinne Berthiaume
Elementary Mathematics
Corinne Berthiaume worked in New York City elementary public schools for 10 years. She began teaching in ICT and general education classrooms in The Bronx before joining PS 84 in Manhattan to teach in their French dual language program. During this time, Corinne focused much of her professional development on bilingual education and math instruction. She is especially passionate about teaching math through problem-solving and math discourse. She eventually took on the role of in-house math coach at her school, supporting teachers in strengthening their content understanding and growing as math teachers. She became a Master Teacher at Math for America in 2015, and participated in the New York State Aim High NY initiative to review the Common Core Learning Standards in 2016. Corinne also teaches graduate classes in bilingual education and math education at Teachers College and at City College of New York.
Before becoming a teacher, Corinne worked as a management consultant in the financial sector in Canada and the UK.
