Maureen Cassidy
Elementary Mathematics
Maureen Cassidy has been serving the students and educators in the state of Maryland for 32 years. During her 12 years in the classroom, she taught grades 2-12, including special education, sciences, and algebra. She has spent 7 years working as the elementary math content specialist in Charles County where she was responsible for the implementation of the curriculum, providing professional learning for teachers and administrators, with an emphasis on formative assessment and using that information to guide instruction. She held the role of President for Maryland Council for Supervisors of Mathematics for 4 years. Previously, Maureen was the special education math teacher specialist for students in grades K-12. Her role was to help teachers examine student data to create Individualized Education plans for mathematics. She would model lessons and provide professional learning for all teachers who worked with students with different abilities.
