Susan Habicht
Mathematics
Susan is a NY and NJ certified math educator with over 25 years of experience working with 4th through 12th grade students in public, private, all-girls, gifted, and special ed schools. She believes that learning should be accessible to all students and that trust and rapport are necessary for building a strong learning community.
Susan strives to meet the needs of all learners by ensuring that every student is welcomed, accepted, and engaged. She has worked with populations that include English language learners, students with IEPs, gifted and 2e students, and students in need of remediation.
She has piloted and utilized various math programs starting with Connected Math (CMP) and moving on to traditional texts, Larson Big Ideas Math, College Prep Mathematics (CPM), and Illustrative Math. Susan’s journey as a math teacher and as a parent to two adolescent boys has made her more empathic, accepting, flexible, professional, and positive. She mentors and inspires teachers and colleagues to strive for their teaching practice to be more inclusive and supportive of all students.
