Large urban districts and small suburban districts alike recognize the need to provide an equitable and accessible education for all children and acknowledge that systemic inequities negatively impact academic performance of many in marginalized communities. The challenge to schools and communities in addressing these issues are tremendous.
Metamorphosis works side by side with schools and districts to help them in reaching and teaching all students. In workshops and through coaching and participating in learning communities, we explore factors that impact the classroom environment. We equip teachers with culturally responsive tools and strategies to help create learning cultures, where every voice is valued. All children are met where they are and challenged to grow personally and academically and where they are supported in developing a positive math identity.

Equity + Integration
The underperformance we see in marginalized communities is the result of inequities in the system. Metamorphosis believes that good teaching promotes equity. But good teaching alone is not enough to dismantle beliefs, policies and practices that continue to deny all students access to a quality education.
Metamorphosis works with individuals, schools and organizations to increase teachers’ awareness of the power they hold in reducing inequities through culturally responsive teaching. We believe that through careful planning and attention to culture and community, in addition to content, we can begin to build classrooms as truly integrated and equitable democratic spaces.
