Looking to deepen your students’ understanding of expressions and equations through meaningful modeling and big ideas?
Join us for an interactive workshop that supports students in developing a strong conceptual foundation in algebra—through the lens of equivalence, structure, and visual reasoning.
In this hands-on session, we will:
- Explore how visual models and manipulatives can support students in making sense of expressions, equations, and the concept of equivalence.
- Use multiple representations to uncover the structure of algebraic expressions and make connections between arithmetic patterns and algebraic thinking.
- Engage in digital learning that provides opportunities to enhance how all students engage with deepening mathematical understanding.
- Learn strategies to move instruction beyond procedures, helping students reason through algebraic ideas and engage in mathematical discourse.
Walk away with ready-to-use tools and strategies that make abstract algebra more accessible for all learners—whether you’re supporting students who need to build confidence or pushing for deeper engagement with big mathematical ideas.
This workshop is also offered at your convenience and can be customized for your school or district.
